Railroad Passes, 1873
A.A. Barnes, General Editor of the "Travelers' Official Railway Guide"

I have had these railroad passes (mostly from the deep south) in my paper collection for a long time. I purchased them still in their embossed leather carrying case. They were used by A.A. Barnes, General Editor of the "Travelers' Official Railway Guide," of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His business card was in the case also. Most of these civil war era railroads were probably taken over by larger lines, and do not exist today. —Dave Mason
