SPECIAL INFORMATION ALL SHOULD READ.
Children under 5 years of age, trei; under 12 years, half-fare. On Puns-Pacific Lines Children under 2 years of age, free; 2 to 5 years, quarter-fare; to
12 years, ball-tare; and ors, 12, full-fare. On Pacific Coast and River Steamers,
Children under 5 years, free (when accompanied by parents or some person In
charge); 510 12 years, half-fare; 12 years or over, full-fare. On Stage Lines,
Children under 8 years, free; under 12 and over 8 years, half fare; over 12 years, full fare.
Baggage can be checked only to destination of Second Class and Emigrant Tickets. Baggage Free on each Full ticket, 100 lb.. and on each Half-ticket 50 lbs. on all classes to railroad points, except as otherwise noted herein. Between Missousi River and Denver, 150 pounds baggage is allowed each person holding one lull ticket to Cheyenne or any point In Colorado, Raisins or Nebraska. All baggage for points west of Cheyenne muss be rechecked at Missouri River. Extra Baggage per 100 lbs. Is 10 to Ii per cent, of first class fare. Free Baggage allowance on Stages is usually 40 or CO lot., and the charge for extra weight higher than for .... distance by rail.
The Baggage allowance on steamers between San Francisco and Oregon points salts pounds. Extra weight, $0.00 per 100 pounds. Between the Missouri
for
Freight Rates, on household goods, Omaha to Sass Francisco, $570 per car, or $4.50 Per 105 not. well boxed.
The rates quoted herein are for passage only. They do not Include cost of ...Is, or of seats or berths in sleeping cars. All trains atop at regular eating stations, where drat class meals are furnished at prices ranging from lie to $1.00 for Express Trains, and from SOc to Ho for Emigrant Trains- The charges for berths In sleeping cars on Express treble are given not another page of this folder.
Holders of 2d class ticket' are carried in use front car of Express Trains, in an apartment separated from smoking room.
Sleeping Car and Stop-Over Privileges are not allowed on Second and Third Class Tickets. Stopsever Checks are issued by Conductors on regular (unlimited) first class tickets and on land tickets.
In the event of any disagreement with a coordinator, relative to tickets re. noted, privileges allowed, etc., passengers should pay the conductor's claim take his receipt, and refer the case to the General Ticket Office for adjssstn,ent. The conductor has no discretionary power in such matters, but is governed by rules
Emigrant Sleeping tiara on all emigrant trains betweea Omaha and Kansas City, and San Francisco. The new cars of this class are fitted with upper and lower berths. The upper berths awing freely 055 true rods, and when net in use can be hung upon the roof of the car where they are not in the way, The lower berths are formed from the seats, and are made up after the manner of firstclass aseepers by turning down the backs. The only difference between these care and first-class sleepers is, that the former are not upholstered, and passenger, most furnish their own bedding. No additional charge for berths in Emigrant Sleeping Cars.
Holders of emigrant tickets to the Blast Hills, and to "Land points" In Nebraska and Kansas. are carried on express traIl's.
Carte call not be chartered for carrying Passengera each person must be provided with a Ticket. The exclusIve use of a first-class coach, however, is given to an organized party holding thirty first-class full tiekets of same form, bought at same time and place. The exclusive she of an Emigrant Sleepin, Car will he given to a party holding thirty-six foil tickets.
Passenger Trains Run Dafly.-The time required between Omaha and San Francleco Is, for Express Train,, 4 days; Emigrant, 73 days. Between Kansas Cityand Sanwrancleco, for express trains, 4% days, and for emigrant, 514 days. See Time Tables elsewhere.
Through Ticket, over this line are sold at nearly all important railroad stations. Money will generally be saved by buying tickets at once for the entire journey, instead of paying local rates from point to point. When tickets through to destination can not be procured at or near beginning of journey, tickets should at first be purchased to Council Bluffs, Omaha, St Joseph, Kansae.City, Leavenworth, Chicago, St. Lonie, or other of the large cities, as moat convenient, and through tickets purchased there. pasetngers are allowed incident time to Purchase tickets, cheek baggage,
baggage, change cars, etc., after arrival of trains at paper City, and Coucctl Bluffs Union
Depots, before the Overland trains leave for the west.
Parties desirous of resnaining at Cnunell Btpries over night, will find fint.clae,
accommodations at the Depot Hotel, on the transfer grounds. The Union F'scige Cnnspsny has also provided an ampls Emigrant House on the transfer grounds, where third-class passengers receive accommodations at very low rates, and where
they can obtain all necesesrtes in the way of lunch for the trip.
Dogs and Guns will be transported in baggage car, by special arrangement of owner with train haggagenssn, the rate charged on the former never to
espeed one-half cent per mile for dtstancsi over 60 miles; and on the latter, 25 osthi. for each passenger division.

Horton Reclining Chair Oars.
The Reclining Chair Cars are furnished with arm chairs which can, with a touch,
be transformed Into comfortable couches, with pillows and cushions complete.
They are perfectly ventllated and heated equally in every part by hot air furnaces.
The windows are very large, and protected by elegant cloth hangings. The cars are unusually high and spaclons, are supported upon the most perfect system of springs known, and are provided with smoking and toilet rooms for the accommodation of passengers. These care run on drst-claas trains between Kansas City and Brookvllle, Ian., Denver and Leadville, and on both lines between Cheyenne and Denver. Chair cars are free to Srst-cla,e passengers on Kansas Division.

The Oregon Railway 4 liavigatiou Company and Pacific Coast Steamship Company, will dispatch one of their steamships, State of California, Oregon, or Columbia, on May 2, 6, 10, 14, IS, 22, 26, 30, June 3, 7, ii, ii, 19, 23, and every following four days at 10 o'clock a. m., for Portland, Astoria, and connecting at Saturn. and Portland, for all points in Oregon and Washington. For Victoria and Pugot Sound.
Either the steamer Idaho or Gen. \V. Elder, of the Pacific Coast Steamship Corn patsy, carrying Her Brittanic Majesty's and United States mails, will sail from Broadway Wharf, San Francisco, at 3 p. m., on the 10th, 20th and 30th of each month for Victoria, British Columbia, Fort Townsend, Seattle, Tacoma, Steilacoom and Olympia, looking close connections with steamboats, etc., for Sksgit River and Coaster mines, Nanaimo, New Westminster, Sitka and all other Sm. portent points on the North Pacific Coast. When Sunday falls on the 10th, 20th or 80th, steamers will sail from San Francisco one day earlier. The steamer Victoria sails for New Westnsioeter and Nanaimo about every two weeks as per advertlseioents in San Francisco newspapers.
