UPRR Buffalo Control Fantasy Token,
A Modern Novelty Item

CPRR Baggage Tag, Thomas Patent 1867

Small brass token, rectangular with rounded corners, 1 3/8" by 7/8". The back is smooth & on the front is stamped from top to bottom:

"VALUE 100 DOLLARS
UNION PACIFIC
RAILROAD
BUFFALO CONTROL"

and in tiny print at the very bottom, it looks to say "L A STAMP". There is no date.

This item fits the published description of a twentieth century novelty item in Tokens and Medals: A Guide to the Identification and Values of United States Exonumia by Stephen P. Alpert and Lawrence E. Elman.

This token is not a 19th century antique, nor historically accurate. For further information, see the FAQ's about Indians, Buffalo, and the UPRR.
