B&ML #19 with a refrigerated creamery car picking up a bulk milk
shipment at the Turner Center Creamery in Unity, ME. The unusual horizontal
“Railroad Crossing” sign with a cast iron “pagoda” top was unique to the
Maine Central and B&ML grade crossings until the 1960’s when they were
replaced by standard “crossbuck” crossing signs.
